Hello families and welcome!
This is the area where we will post information for you about camp procedures, Friday performances, Afternoon Adventures and any other information you may need.
Intersession/Teacher Workday – Drop Off/Pick Up-
Check in begins at 8am. You can park in front of the building, or in the side parking lot. Please walk into the lobby with your camper and sign them in. They will be given their nametag at this time. Once signed in, please take your camper up to the GTE Fiber room. This is the area where lunches are stored and where we all meet as a group. In the morning, campers can draw or play with our games until the camp begins at 9am. There is a lead teacher in GTE Fiber to facilitate camper arrival.
Pick-up is between 2:50 and 3:00pm in the GTE Fiber room. Parking is a bit tighter this time of day, so try to give yourself time to park.
If your child is enrolled in Afternoon Adventures, it will be indicated on their nametag and sign-out sheet. Pick up for Afternoon Adventures is between 5 and 5:30pm and will also take place in GTE Fiber.
Cultural Camp, Mini Camp and Dance Intensive – Drop Off/Pick Up-
Check in begins at 8am. There will be parking spaces on Morris Street and Morgan Street specifically for drop off/pick up right in front of the DAC building. They will be marked with A-frame signs. There are also three 15 minutes parking spaces and other non-metered spaces in the lot next to the building. Please walk into the lobby with your camper and sign them in. They will be given their nametag at this time. You will need to sign your camper in every morning.
Pick-up is between 2:50 and 3:00pm in the lobby where you sign in your camper. Campers will be seated in the lobby with their class and you will need to sign out your camper with a camp staff member at the same table you do sign-in. Pick up can be hectic (or organized chaos!), so try to give yourself time to park.
Durham Arts Council provides a fresh fruit snack, but campers must bring their own lunch that does not need to be refrigerated or microwaved.

As part camp and Afternoon Adventures, we will be visiting cultural locations in Durham. During field trips campers will be organized into groups of no more than 15 children. Each group will be carefully supervised by an experienced instructor, the Summer Arts Camp Manager or DAC staff in our pedestrian caravan for walking trips or in our insured transportation, Greenway Transit for trips requiring a bus. We encourage you to send your children to camp with a hat/sunscreen, as we will be walking in the sun.
