Hello families and welcome!
This is the area where we will post information for you about camp procedures, Friday performances, Afternoon Adventures and any other information you may need. You can also check out our blog where we will post some pictures from camp through out the week.
Cultural Camp, Mini Camp and Dance Intensive – Drop Off/Pick Up-
Check in begins at 8am. There will be parking spaces on Morris Street and Morgan Street specifically for drop off/pick up right in front of the DAC building. They will be marked with A-frame signs. There are also three 15 minutes parking spaces and other non-metered spaces in the lot next to the building. Please walk into the lobby with your camper and sign them in. They will be given their nametag at this time. You will need to sign your camper in every morning.
Pick-up is between 2:50 and 3:00pm in the lobby where you sign in your camper. Campers will be seated in the lobby with their class and you will need to sign out your camper with a camp staff member at the same table you do sign-in. Pick up can be hectic (or organized chaos!), so try to give yourself time to park.
Mini Camp/Cultural Camp/Dance Intensive
All Camp Activity – 9:00am
Class 1 – 9:30am
Snack – 10:45am
Class 2- 11:10am
Lunch – 12:25pm
Class 3 – 1:25pm
The Dance Intensives will be having a performance on Friday, August 17 and Friday, August 24 at 2pm. Additional information will be sent home.
As part camp and Afternoon Adventures, we will be visiting cultural locations in Durham. During field trips campers will be organized into groups of no more than 15 children. Each group will be carefully supervised by an experienced instructor, the Summer Arts Camp Manager or DAC staff in our pedestrian caravan for walking trips or in our insured transportation, Greenway Transit for trips requiring a bus. We encourage you to send your children to camp with a hat/sunscreen, as we will be walking in the sun.
