We are back after a restful weekend and in the home stretch to performance time! Our dancers are learning a dance incorporating traditional Swazi movements.
The visual campers are developing their embroidery skills with Ms. Sara in mixed media.
Our first week of Teen Intensives wrapped up today. We had Anime and Manga Sketching, Printmaking and Jam Session. Project 919, the band from Jam Session, finished out the week with a great performance! (Check out a video on Facebook. @durhamarts)
We are doing a little Throwback Thursday to last weeks Mini Camp and Dance Intensive! Our Dance Intensive put on a great show! The scientists took us back in time as they boogied through from the 40’s to the 80’s.
Our visual campers, made their own pillows from scratch. They drew what they wanted to use as decoration, produced it with felt, and stitched and stuffed their pillows together. They did a GREAT job!
On Thursday afternoon, afternoon adventures took a trip to Duke Homestead and played some town ball.
We had another great day here at DAC! Our chorus members are practicing their songs for the musical.
While they are singing their hearts out, our dancers are getting warmed up and ready to grasshop like grasshoppers!
Our visual track campers are learning about different houses seen in eSwatini and sculpting animals from the region.
Another summer has begun at DAC! We are off to a great start in the country of eSwatini. Our campers are hard at work, drawing, sculpting, acting and so much more. Check it out!
In Afternoon Adventures, we escaped the heat and went on a tour of the exhibits being shown at DAC right now.
