Groundbreaking Greek Masks

Ms. Sara and the visual track campers were working on some beautiful paper mache masks today with construction and tissue paper.  Masks were very significant in Ancient Greece and were used in ceremonies, celebrations, and rituals.  Masks were also used a lot in classic Greek theatre.  Dramatic expressions (and in this case, colors!) were used to convey character and often used so that one actor could play many parts.  We have been learning a lot!

In Afternoon Adventures, our campers took a trip to the Nasher Museum of Art, where we had a great tour to see the exhibits, including a beautiful old vase from…you guessed it, Greece!
