The field trip and guest artist schedule for Session A Afternoon Adventures has been finalized, and we are ready to get up close and personal with some of the awesome resources Durham has to offer. We encourage you to send your children to camp with a hat and/or sunscreen on field trip days, as we will be walking in the sun.
On Tuesday, June 14 we will be welcoming back guitarist Phillip Ogle to give a short performance and talk to campers about his music.
On Wednesdays (June 15 and June 22) we will be walking to visit the Durham Farmer’s Market. If your camper would like to purchase local produce or something small from the market, please send them with a few dollars on these days.
On Friday, June 17 we will be walking to visit the Durham History Hub at the Museum of Durham History. Campers will be able to explore the museum and take part in the walking tour!
On Monday, June 20 guest artist David Klingler will be visiting to share some Scottish fiddling with the campers.
Finally, on Thursday June 23 we will be checking out the Bull City Sculpture show, another walking trip around Durham.
Permission slips will be available to sign on Monday morning at check in. Any campers who do not have signed permission slips will not be able to participate.
